Our school system in Skagit County is a source of pride for all the residents here. Having been raised here, and educated in the Mount Vernon School District (including Skagit Valley College), I can tell you firsthand how much I value the experience.

I can't imagine a better place for your children (or grandchildren) to learn. But I'll let you be the judge of that.

One of the best sources for comparing schools is just4kids.org. This website takes all the achievement data from schools across Washington (and the country) and allows us to view the schools side-by-side. The Washington School Research Center maintains this site, and the Gates Foundation and Boeing Corporation support it.

You may be pleasantly surprised how the schools in Skagit County stack up against the rest of Washington State.
